Visited an amazing place today on our way from Port Douglas to Townsville: the Babinda Boulders. Tonnes of granite moved by earthquakes and water make for an impressive landscape.
The drive to Townsville proved to be a bit more difficult than anticipated, there's roadworks everywhere. It's after eight when we finally arrive in our motel. Dinner turns out to be a problem: for some strange reason all restaurants are closed by 9 PM. This is not just the case in Townsville, it's the same all over the East Coast. For lack of a better option, we settle for pizza and McDonald's.
