Fishies! Lots 'n lots of fishies! And spiders too!

Visit to the Sydney aquarium was amazing! Never seen such huge crabs, lobsters and turtles in my life! And they have dugongs! The cutest, gentlest creatures you'll meet in the sea, if you ask me. Off course lots of sharks too, and amazing corals, anemones and brightly coloured little fishies. And of course the platypus! She was a lot smaller than I imagined, and really very active. Probably the only one we'll see. We might spot one in Eungella national park, but they're quite shy, so chances are slim. We also met our first koala, sitting in a eucalyptus tree outside the zoo. Cute as a button!
We had a little time left, so we took a ferry from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour. Nice to see Sydney by boat! Then we scored an amazing deal in a local restaurant called Kazbah , right at the waterfront of Darling Harbour: 25 AUD for a "twilight dinner", excellent meal and wine, as long as we cleared out by 19h30. If you're ever in Sydney, a name worth remembering!
And then we were off to see Spiderman at the IMAX theatre. Biggest screen in the world, and in 3D! An exhilarating experience! Although sometimes hard to follow in the most fast-paced scenes, but still, well worth the money!
And now it's goodbye to Sydney and the moderate temperatures, off to tropical Queensland, where the adventure really starts! Driving on the left, hiking in national parks,... Can't wait!

Je vertelde me dat er ook wat National Parks op je agenda staan... ik ben je nog vergeten te waarschuwen: Pas op voor de Cassowary!!
